With the development of city construction , tall buildings and supertall buildings rise gradually, but because the development time abouttall buildings and super tall buildings is short , the theories aboutdesign and calculation their foundations is not perfect , the experienceabout design foundations is not enough. Above all ,it is a span-subjectdomain and involved theories are wide ,so it is necessary to make thetheories more through and more perfect.The foundation constructureis a important part of tall buildings .itcost 25~40% engineering cost .therefore it is not noly ensure theengineering safe ,but also save engineering cost to make a reasonablechoice of foundation types according to the structure modality andthe hydrogeological conditions of the soils which the foundation in.The text introduces in brief tall building foundation types and theirapplication conditions, long-comings and short-comings, calculationmethods and domestic and foreign development status;the engineeringgeological conditions and geological circumscription subarea;itprovides applied and feasible advise about selection of tail buildingfoundation types accordingly. The text also makes a design on foundations of a tail building inChangchun city and makes contrasts and selection about them. It isfeasible and correct to make geological circumscription subarea abouttail building foundation types in chang-chun city. The text aims toprovide a reasonable advise to make selection about a tail buildingfoundation types in Changchun city and to contribute to thedevelopment of tail building in Changchun city.
