With the fast developing technology of green energy, an ever-enhanced attention has been focused to the PWM rectifier in the field of power electronics. PWM rectifier might become an ideal electric appliance or a linkage between grid-line and other electric facilities, characterized of nearly sinusoidal current and adjustable power factor. This paper analyses the basic principe of the PWM rectifier.Based on the relations between the voltages and currents in accordance with the states of the rectifier topology, the switching function model was first established. This paper presents a novel control approach for a three-phase pulse-width modulation (PWM) voltage source rectifier (VSR). The nonlinear rectifier model is transformed into linear controllable model (Brunovsky criterion model) by precise linearization on states feedback. The superior coupling and nonlinear system is transformed into linear controllable system. The controller's hardware was designed around the Ti's F2407 processor and choosing IPM as major switching device to integrate with the software to realize a dual-loop VSR control system. This dissertation focuses on the engineering design and realization of high power three-phase Voltage Source Rectifier (VSR) with emphasis on the control technique. The dissertation work covers the methodology study, controller design, prototype implementation and experiment. The paper concludes with convincing results and expected waveforms that predict the prospect of PWM rectifier.
