Along with the fast development of the economy in our country, water resources and water electric power source which original are not enough now seem to be more and more precious. Under the great situation that current water resource lacks tightly and energy crisis, it is very necessary and urgent to study a way to raise the synthesized benefit of reservoir. The benefit of the TGP is large and comprehensive in its flood control, electricity generation, ship and irrigation. It will bring considerable electricity benefit by raising water head in every 1 m. But when designed the time to start impounding water they paid more attention to the navigation in the reservoir tail influenced by sediment. And if we impound water according to the original design, the reservoir can't be impounded to the water level that is expected in some special years, again because of various reasons the runoff after flood season will decrease, the reservoir will meet difficult problems in impounding water when it normally work. For the sake of assuring the impounding water of the TGP, and for raising the comprehensive benefit, to research a way to impound water in advance is very necessary. This text sets out from the angle of impounding water in advance, look for a safe and valid method to raise the benefit of TGP, provide the reference for the TGP and other reservoirs.To raise the benefit we must consider the problem of every aspect. It exists very big antinomy in flood control, electricity generation and navigation. Because the flood occurrence has the indetermination, impounding water in advance can increase the electricity generation, but also will increase the risk of flood control, at the same time it is disadvantageous to navigation. To make whole performance of the reservoir, we must moderate and handle these three faces.This dissertation will analyze the comprehensive benefit of TGP impounding water in advance from these three aspects. How to handle the antinomies in these three aspects is the core place that will be studied in this text. In the first part is mainly to build up reservoir compute model of flood control and electricity generation; Then in the second part put forward the method of impounding water by controlling water level in September and several schemes of impounding water in advance. The main content of the third part is the comparison of the benefit of every impounding water schemes, providing suggestions for TGP. The dissertation is divided into six chapters, the contents in each chapter is as follows:In chapter 1, the main content is an analysis of the problems of tightly scarcity of water resources and energies existing in our country, and the shortcomings in mostly utilization of TGP. And the existing methods of improving the utilization of reservoir are included and commented. At last point out that the main contents of this text is how to increase the comprehensive benefit of TGP by impounding water in advance.In chapter 2, on the basis of analyzing the calculation principles and methods for flood control and electricity generation, establish the electricity generation calculation model that considers flood control, provide computing basis for the research of impounding water in advance. Set out from the calculation of flood control firstly, compare its methods in common use currently, point out their characteristics and applying condition, analyze the method of optimizing flood control, then analyze the constitute and applying principle of reservoir regulation graph and use it to calculate the electricity generation, according to the request of flood control, build up the calculation model of electricity generation that consider flood. Finally analyze the TGP's flood control and electricity generation condition of calculation.In chapter 3, put forward the impounding water method by controlling water level in September. In this method, firstly divide September into 3 parts equally, when impounding water in advance, settle a flood control level at each 10 days in September, keeps as far as possible not to exceed the homologous flood control water level, thus leave enough space to certain flood control. And then use the established model and method to compute the designed flood course and homologous flood control water level, calculate the electricity generation of each scheme of impounding water in advance.In chapter 4, the influence of impounding water in advance to navigation is mainly in the fluctuant returning water area and the downstream of the reservoir. The outstanding parts in the fluctuant returning water area are Qingyanzi, Shangluoqi and Chongqing reachs. Because the navigation problems in Qingyanzi and Shangluoqi will appear in the early years of the scheme of 175 m, and will be solved, the main navigation obstruct will occur in the Chongqing reach. On the basis of analyzing and including the silting up rules of sediment in Chongqing reach, and the influence that TGP will add on it, further analyze the influence to the Chongqing reach that cause by impounding water in advance. At the same time, analyze the navigation of the downstream of the reservoir through the result of the flood control and electricity generation calculation.In chapter 5, the benefit of flood control, electricity generation and navigationbrought by impounding water in advance will be analyzed and compared. The method of impounding water in advance by controlling water level in September can not only guarantee preventing flood, it also generates great more electric power, and the lose in navigation is a smaller value if it is compared to the benefit brought by electricity generation. So, the method of impounding water in advance by controlling water level in September is valid for the full utilization of TGP.In chapter 5, the main work in this dissertation is summarized, then the problems need further research, and the outlook of this research in the future are put forwarded.
