Each important discovery of the microworld depends on the accelerated particle bombarding with the other particles. With the further research of the particle, the higher energy and more brightness is expected. The superconductive technology is used by the radio frequency cavity because of its special characteristics. The emphasis of this paper is how to build a vertical test system for the superconducting cavity with middle βstructure. Taking an 1.3GHz superconducting cavity made in IHEP (Institute of High Energy Physics) as an example, the cavity design and field analyze are introduced. With the knowledge in hand, some key parameters are described and also how to use them is introduced. The design of the vertical test system is described in detail. The test system includes the liquid helium low temperature subsystem,the cooling subsystem,the power supply subsystem,the low electronic level control subsystem and the alarm subsystem. The paper discusses how these subsystems being tested and how to put them work together as a whole system. The low electronic level control subsystem, as an important part, its circuit design is analyzed concretely. The hardware works must be supported by the software. Using code LabVIEW, the GPIB card collects the data and deals them. The results are displayed on the computer's screen. The whole system works perfectly. Vertical testing system for superconducting cavity is an important part of the research work on superconductive cavity technology. It is one of the widely used methods of evaluating the performance of a superconducting cavity. The vertical testing system for the 1.3GHz superconducting cavity is the first one which can satisfying the engineering application purpose in China. This system will be a good technical preparation gave us pre-knowledge to development of Chinese superconducting accelerators.
