With the development of microchip technique and operating system technique, embedded real-time operating system becomes an important part of the computer science. It has been widely used in manufacturing industry, process control, instrument design, communication systems and so on. The traditional control software is a foreground/background system. It doesn't match the increasing of the complexity of the embedded system and the requirement of the real-time ability and reliability. In order to enhance the performance of the control system, it's necessary to construct the control software based on the embedded real-time platform. This thesis outlines the concepts of the embedded real-time operating system, analyzes the uC/OS-II operating system and ports it to the C8051F015 micro-controller to construct the embedded real-time platform. The software of the control system is designed on the embedded real-time platform. This scheme provides a method to reduce the difficulty of designing the control software and enhance the performance of the system. On the basis of the design of Multi-channels Water Quality Analyzer, this thesis discusses problems on using the embedded real-time system in the instrument design. Combined with uC/OS-II, each module of the system is introduced in detail. These modules can be applied to other designs of embedded system easily. The networked control system based on TCP/IP network becomes a new trend. At the end of thesis, the problems on using the TCP/IP protocol in the embedded systems are discussed. It provides a new method to build the intelligent, networked water quality analysis system for the future.
