As a new structure form of breakwater, permeable breakwater has been noticed more and more in the present year. It is because breakwater has its advantages on engineering cost,construction and influence to circumstance, comparing with entity breakwater. But at the same time, permeable breakwater is possessed of a critical defect, which is the effect of blocking wave isn't prior to solid breakwater, especially on the condition of long wave's action. So permeable breakwater is suitable to the ports in small wave area or lake's port presently. And about the dynamic and kinetic characteristics under the wave's action, which need to study deeply.Basing on this two problems existing in the study of permeable breakwater in current, at first, this dissertation designs a new kind of permeable breakwater — permeable breakwater with wave-absorbing chambers. Under the same wave factor, water depth and other conditions, author conducts model experiments with blocking permeable breakwater and barrier permeable breakwater. And then makes the comparison on the following three aspects: refection coefficient,transmission coefficient and force on the structure, at last draws on some conclusions which may have definite engineering meaning. In addition, author deduces the formula of calculating transmission coefficient by linear wave theory and potential function theory, which is examined and revised by experiment data then, it proves the formula can be used in definite calculation area. Meanwhile, author puts forward a judge standard by means of transmission coefficient and force on structure, which can be useful to give the overall comment on the work state and effect of blocking wave on the condition of wave's action for permeable breakwater. This fruits may have actual application value and significance in engineering and theory study.
