In order to relax increasingly strained shortness of water resource in part area of china, and to content the use and the collocation of water resource, lager numbers of water transfer projects must be constructed, most of which are multi-stage pumping stations. Water transfer capacity of multi-stage pumping stations in water transfer projects is so tremendous, however, water transfer capacity of the water transportation system is so little, so the relation of multi-stage stations in discharge and head should be compact. If operation scheduling is unsuitable in practical operation, the discharge of pumping stations will be inappropriate, and the times of opening and stopping water pumps will be much more. It is possible that water in the channel will overflow, and water level in the channel will fluctuate so much, and the life of the equipments will be reduced, accordingly, it will affect the safety and efficiency of water transfer projects. In order to completely make use of operation scheduling in safety and efficiency of the water transfer projects, the research on computer simulation in operation scheduling must be enhanced. According to this, not only the design scheme can be checked up in layout and design phase, but also it can simulate the process and sustain the decision-making of operation scheduling in practical running phase. Consequently, it is necessary to study the computer simulation of operation scheduling in multi-stage pumping stations, which can ensure the safety and efficiency of them.In the thesis, the software is developed by FORTRAN and Visual Basic. Unsteady flow equations in open Channel are discretized by the preissman scheme. Based on above, FORTRAN Dynamic Link Library is established, which is the key of the computer simulation in operation scheduling. Simulation interface is designed by Visual Basic. In this part, there are four modules, including initial condition module, boundary condition module, calculation module and graph module. Calculation is processed by inputting the basic parameters, upstream and downstream conditions of the open channel, and transferring FORTRAN Dynamic Link Library. In the end, the results will be displayed in graph module.
