Along with raising the level of social productivity and rapid economic growth, the demand for energy is rapidly increasing. Facing the current worldwide coal, oil and other resources in a serious crisis and increasingly severe environmental pollution, optimize energy structure, improving energy utilization has become one of the hot issues of national research. Practices have proven that the use of natural gas for power generation can play an important role in the aspects of supplementary power shortages, rational use of resources and promote economic development. Therefore, the study of natural gas for power generation has positive economic and social benefits.The paper begins with design of natural gas generating unit, choose and modify the natural gas engine, choose the generator on the base of matching principle, establish the experimental platform;basing on the C8051F040 MCU, designs the software and hardware of control system, which measure the voltage, electric current, frequency, engine rotational speed, control throttle opening angle and thus control frequency stability;analyses the limitations of traditional modeling methods which through study the system theories, attempts to use BP nerve network and experimental data to build the model, then paints the stable status model curves;analyses the advantages and disadvantages of traditional PID control, applies Fuzzy control to the PID control parameters adjustment, and forms the Fuzzy-PID control.Experiments have proved that this natural gas generating unit has reached its target. With in-depth study, in the future such unit will play an important role in practical applications.
