The gear sleeve of automotive synchronizer is a important part ofgear-reducer ,at the same time, the slot of gear sleeve is the mainworking-part ,which determine the quality of gear-reducer. A new methodwith single-point tool machining slot is presented in this paper, whichimproves the quality of workpiece, widens the utility range of cuttingtools and extends its life.1.To establish the mathematical model of cutting force of the Flycuttings, experimental designs are made in this paper. Orthonormalexperiments are carried out in the paper, and relevant experimental dataare also gotten, which reduce the workload greatly. The mathematical modelof cutting force of the Fly cuttings are made by multi-variable linearregression.2.Based on cutting theory with the Fly cutting , a universal toolwas designed, which is able to machine complicated workpiece. In addition ,the statics and modality analyses are made for the cutting tool.3.Integrated with slot of automotive synchronizer, the cuttingparameters were optimized with the the Fly cutting, and the mechanicalimpact during the cutting process were also analysed.
