With the Principal Component Cluster analysis method of Statistics , the paper studies the present state and the evaluation methods of the traffic accidents both in china and abroad, constructs the system of synthesis evaluation of road traffic safety. According to the kinds of reasons which related to road traffic accidents, such as time distribution, person, motor vehicle, path and so on, the new indicators used in the road traffic accidents occured in China, 2004. The research demonstrates that the new indicators of road traffic safety can reveal the main information of the original date, and the original indicators can be replaced by one or two indicators. With the new indicators, this thesis has a simple , clear and ocular conclusion . Owing to objective dates are used in the new indicators, it can obtain the real condition of road traffic safety. Through using the new indicators, it can see precisely and objectively the feature and the trends of road traffic accidents, it also can obtain the type of road traffic accident reasons. Through verifying, it demonstrates that the new indicators are feasible to synthesis evaluation the road traffic accidents. The new indicators can make up of the insufficiencies and faults of the present road traffic accidents evaluations methods. So, it is valuable and practiced in use.On the bases of the above research and survey, this thesis analyses the reasons,the characteristics and the trend of road traffic accidents in China. Then, somemeasures and proposes are advanced in this paper.
