Analysis And Study Of The Process Of Human-centered Design

In modern product design process, the research of the human factor becomes an increasing emphasis . The target of product design is not only to deal with engineering problems , but also to establish the human-centered principle. To improve the quality of human life and work is the main goal of the design activities. The analysis of human factors according to using instance has become one of the indispensable methods in the design process. Putting the research and testing of human factors into the development process is one effective means to improve usability of the product.The principles of human-centered design emphasized that the human factor should be the first consideration in the design. Human-centered design emphasizes that people, products, the environment, society should interdepend between each other and promote symbiotic relationship. According to the adoption and research of ISO 13407 standards, the specific requirements of human-centered design has been detailedly analysed in this paper. The related human factors has been researched and the proposed methods and tools of implementing the principles has been given. The significance of human-centered design principles for the implementation of the development strategies has been discussed.How to make use of human factors research in specific design process is the key problem of the implementation of human-centered design principles. The approach to implementation has presented in this paper. On the basis of human-centered design principles, the specific means of implementation has been indicated. The concept and methodology of how to use the relevant information in the specific design has been expatiated.The evaluation should be developed to make sure that the human-centered design implemented effectively and to estimate whether the process complianced with the principle . The designers should make modification or duplication process to the design with user feedback andrequirements until the scheme in accordance with the final goal. The evaluation should be carried out to provide supports for the improvement of the design. The method of evaluation has been given in this paper . The significance of the evaluation in the design process has been discussed. Detailed usability testing methodology and its application in the design process has been researched.The improving design project of multifunctional electric operating table for Shanghai Medical Machine company was used as an example in this paper to introduce the human-centered design process used in the medical product. The relevant design factors in the design process were analysed detailedly. The human-centered design concepts were fully embodied in the design. The evaluation system was established and used to assess the product.
