Biological Signal Acquisition System Based On ARM And USB2.0

This project mainly uses the USB technique, Virtual instruments technique, MCU technique and some other software and hardware technique to build Virtual instruments system based on USB.USB possess the characters of Plug-and-Play and convenient using. So, USB interface has found wide applications in various peripheral equipment of PC. USB 2.0 specification issued in 2000 can provide a speed of 480 Mbps, which enables applications of high-speed equipment. With the development of computer technology, Virtual Instrument (VI) based on PC computer has made great progress. Virtual Instrument is a powerful application software engineering;therefore, combination of USB 2.0 interface and VI should be a very promising idea. For putting both of them in the signal acquisition and processing system, the author had accomplished circuit design, circuit board making, compiling firmware program of MCU, compiling WDM program, LabVIEW program and so on. After integration debugging, it has been successful to transmit data from bottom hardware to application software and accomplish the initial prototype of virtual instruments system based on USB. The main contributions are as follows:1. A scheme to realize Virtual Instrument based on a PC computer and USB interface circuit board is proposed, including design and implementation of its hardware and software;2. Build a biological signal acquisition system based on ARM7 core processor and with USB2.0 interface;3. Realize an entire data communication processing system, including calling DLL in LabVIEW7 to communicate with self-made hardware device, programming and debugging of USB 2.0 microcontroller Firmware, as well testing the whole system.
