After the difficulty of bus ride was settled, hominization demands on bus internal environment (BIE)such as safety, easiness, health, and high efficiency come forth. So it is quite necessary to explore new design ideas which should be based on ergonomics for BIE to satisfy the above new demands.Based on summarizing and analysis of auto body internal layout, ergonomics-based design and evaluation methods for bus driver and passenger compartment was put forward by using automobile human engineering theories: 1 driver H point design;height of windshield lower edge design;driver hand reach evaluation 2 passenger seat design;height of roof handrail design;passenger vision field check. Meanwhile, special ergonomics-based design system for BIE was developed, which was supported by SolidWorks 2005 software as working platform and aided by Visual Basic 6.0 as basic language.The system was realized by utilizing relevant knowledge of design and expertises of relevant field. Customized toolbar and icon was developed upon SolidWorks 2005 standard interface. At the same time, human dimensions of Chinese conformed design method was offered, and intelligentization of ergonomics-based design and evaluation for components in bus was also preliminarily achieved, which actually remedied the deficiency lied in BIE design in China ,also improved its efficiency and quality.
