Evaluation on Human-Machine-Environment (HME) system of automobile cab is an effective way to improve driving security, protect the health of drivers, and reduce misoperations. An evaluation method based on the HME system of automobile cab is proposed in this paper, and the realization process is introduced in detail.The development of domestic and international automobile ergonomics is introduced firstly, and the characters of evaluation on HME system of automobile cab are analyzed. Three kinds of evaluation methods on HME system are compared, and the research contents and scheme are established.The components of HME system of automobile cab are researched, including human factors, machine factors, environment factors, and the relationships between them. Then, combining with national and industrial standards, the subjective and objective evaluation indexes of displays, manipulators, automobile body, and environment in the automobile cab are proposed, and the evaluation indexes system is established.In order to solve the problems with unknown and uncertain information, grey system theory is applied in the subjective evaluation on HME system of automobile cab, and the function relationship of evaluation model is built. By this way, the results of subjective evaluation are transformed form quality to quantity. Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) method is used to calculate the weight of each index of HME system.Based on the established evaluation system in this paper, Object Oriented method and development technology of Unigraphics are used to develop the integrated evaluation software of HME system of automobile cab, then by dint of modeling, assembly and analysis functions of Unigraphics, the real-time interaction between design and evaluation of automobile cab is realized under Unigraphics. The evaluation software developed in this research is applied in the evaluation on HME system of a certain cab, and the quantitative results are obtained. Considering the evaluation results, some suggestions are proposed to improve the former design.The research work in this paper is very significant to simplify the evaluation process and quantify the evaluation results.
