Toroidal composite vessel winded with fabric is a new kind of mechanical pressure vessels. As the shape of toroidal vessel is very particular, toroidal vessel can't be winded with normal cylindrical shell winding machinery. A toroidal vessel winding machinae has been designed to wind the toroidal vessel which has mid-radius R0 = 250 and section-radius S= 50.Firstly, there are two types of winding patterns for toroidal vessel: spiral winding along toroidal vessel geodesics and analogous sine placement along the external surface of toroidal vessel. When spiral winding along geodesics finishs one winding cycle, the winding velocity ratio should be adjust to make the locator of fabric not to superpose the origination, and the amount of adjustment of winding velocity ratio should be determined by filling linetype of toroidal vessel's big-radius or mid-radius or small-radius. In the same way, when analogous sine placement along the external surface of toroidal vessel finishs one placement cycle, the velocity ratio of placement should be adjusted, and the amount of adjustment should be determined by by filling linetype of toroidal vessel's big-radius.Secondly, the winding machine for toroidal vessel is consisted of three parts: clamp mechanism , transmission of clamp mechanism and main transmission in this design. The clamp mechanism not only orients the position of toroidal vessel, but also offers dynamic friction for rotation of toroidal vessel;motion and force for oroidal vessel are offered by transmission of clamp mechanism;the motion and force of fabric discs rotating with two fabric mouths around the mid-radius of toroidal vessel are offered by main transmission.Lastly, the 3-D visible design of toroidal vessel winding machine has been completely achieved by the powerful 3-D building function of Pro/E. And then the ".cmd"format file has been created by the special seamless interface between Pro/E and ADAMS(Automatic Dynamic Analysis of Mechanical Systems). Later, the file can be imported into ADAMS to add more complicated force and motion relationship. At last, the dynamic simulation of winding pattern and winding machine can be achieved.
