With the decreasing conventional energy resources and the increasing environment pollution, we have to find new energy resources for the future car. As the newest generate electricity technology, fuel cell not only has a high efficiency but also no pollution. So it is focused by the entire world. And the corresponding proton exchange membrane fuel cell engine also has many merits, such as high energy convert efficiency, zero emission, lower operation temperature, fuel diversity and so on. So it is recognized as the most competitive automotive power in the future.In this thesis, the principle , characteristics and efficiency of proton exchange membrane fuel cell (PEMFC), and the configuration of fuel cell system are introduced firstly. Besides, fuel cell system applied on the vehicle is analyzed, which includes the following contents: the configuration and realization of the fuel cell electric vehicle control system. The following fuel cell engine test system is based on these.The design of fuel cell engine test system is the one main content of this thesis. The hardware of the whole test system is designed;including gas supply system, gas humidified system, water and heat management system, energy flow management system and safety alarm system. Meanwhile, the humidified amount of reaction gas and the heat balance of the fuel cell stack are calculated in detail. According to the requirements of the test system, a software platform is set up based on KINGVIEW. And then, the basic function of KINGVIEW, database visit and various I/O templates are discussed. The interfaces of power supply servo unit and signal process unit are also defined one by one. Besides, as fuel cell is a complicated multiple input and output system, the application of PID control in this test system is researched as well.Another main content of this thesis is the fuel cell engine operation flow and test methods. Different operation flows are analyzed and established, including clear away gas flow, startup flow, normal operation flow and stop flow. At last, according to ourselves research experience, and combining with our practices, an integrated test method and criterion is put forward. Among this, the test items and test cycles areestablished;test course and test methods are put forward, such as startup performance test under normal temperature, operation mode cycle test, dependability and environment adaptability assessment and so on.
