Along with the shipping enterprise development, the ships navigation safety is regarded more and more. The ships direction is the most essential factor guaranteed the ships navigation security. The gyro-compass took one of ships navigation, is the necessary equipment in the ships navigation. Its precision and reliability influence directly ships navigation security and duty completing prearranged.The digitization and intellectualization are one of instrument development directions, also requests to the data acquisition speed and the control precision more high. This set a higher request to the instrument hardware platform. The gyro-compass is one of most important instruments in the ships navigation, its repeater must be able real-time, accurately to respond the ships direction. According to the gyro-compass structure and the characteristic, this article introduced one kind methods of the ships repeater compass development based on DSP embedded as microprocessor.Step motor is a executive element can be form a simpler open-loop control with certain precision or a closed-loop control with higher precision using the digital signal.Because there is certain linearity relations the electricity pulse signal and the step angle, this make step motor to be obtained the widespread application in speed control, position control and so on.According to the step angle of step motor can be done smaller and smaller, has no cumulating error and higher reliability and so on. Build up a hardware platform by integrating the TMS320LF2407A DSP which is a CMOS chip which TI Corporation designed specially for the wide range digital motor control (DMC). On this foundation introduced structure and principle of the step motor, structure and characteristic of the TMS320LF2407A DSP chip, the mathematical model of fractionizing elongation of a step which the two phase mixed styles step motor controlled by the TMS320LF2407A DSP chip, principle of the SPWM wave produced, SCI communication of DSP, open-loop control and closed-loop control current feedback of the step motor, the system hardware and software realization, anti-jamming problem and so on.Through testing and debugging of this system, indicated DSP embedded has the quick data acquisition and the data processing speed, as well as high control precision, the systemic reliability is high, is easy to promote and so on the characteristic in the ships repeater compass application. This design will be able to have the broad application prospect in the ships nautical instrument measuring appliance domain.
