The Power Plant Efficiency Monitoring System Based On OPC

At the present time, the calculation method of electric power system economicalefficiency is researched comprehensively by domestic and foreign scholars, andachievements are great. In this paper, a unit performance calculation method t isintroduced, and is implemented by a software which can provide correlative parametersmeasured and calculated for managers and operators on-line. The Monitoring System ofunit economical efficiency has been applied, and has got good appraisement.In the process of programming the software, much consideration is focused on thesoftware and hardware of power plant. Compared with other programming language,Delphi 7.0 is selected as the developing platform. For getting real-time parametersmeasured, and sharing data with PI System and other third party applications, thetechnology of OPC and PI-SDK is applied in this monitoring system.OPC standard is based on OLE/COM of Microsoft, and bridges between Microsoftapplications and process control applications. In the monitoring system, the server sidecommunicates in two directions: getting real-time data and providing data measured andcalculated for clients.PI System is the one with the frame of Client/Server, and can operating in variousOS environments. The server module of PI System store and manage all real-time data,distributed data collecting interfaces collect raw real-time data, and client software takethe charge of displaying and applying data. PI-SDK is used to access to data in all PIsoftware.
