With the rapid development of high-rise buildings, frame-tube structures with strengthened stories are widely being used in practical engineering. In the construction of strengthened stories, there are many cases that may be met. Thus, it is very significant for engineering design to study the mechanical behaviors and failure characteristics for this structure system. In the text, it studies on frame-tube tall building with strengthened stories by the case of Dalian International Trade Center.Dalian International Trade Center, 330.25m in height, will be one of the highest tall buildings in China and the first one totally designed by architects and researchers of our country. It is adopted out-steel-tube-concrete-frame inside-concrete-tube structure system. So high building adopted frame-tube structure, if not adopted measures in effect, it is not satisfied the criterion demand in storey drifts and structure displacement. So it is determined setting strengthened stories in the building. In the purpose of satisfied the criterion demand in storey drifts and structure displacement, It must be adjust the outriggers' number place and stiffness. It must analyze the disadvantage of the outriggers' setting for the building, especially the problem of weakness stories in the earthquake.Therefore, the thesis develops following investigation:First, the outriggers' number and stiffness confirmed. The outriggers' setting with the tall building's refuge stories and equipment stories can use the space effect. And the outriggers' setting is more, the building can stand the force is better. The building can not become weakness stories. So Dalian International Trade Center is setting five outriggers with five refuge stories and equipment stories. The outriggers' stiffness is confirmed by satisfied the criterion's lowest demand in storey drifts and structure displacement.Second, Dalian International Trade Center, the model is established by ETABS. The structure period, displacement and internal force of this kind of structure are studied based on the model. And then the study is carried through different outriggers' setting. The influence to period, displacement and internal force are studied.Third, it discusses in detail about the characteristics of the frame-tube structure with outriggers. The static pushover analysis of 2D-the frame-tube structure with outriggers puts up. It finds the ream output sequence and position of the outriggers and the border upon stories. Because of the outriggers can bring some stories weakness, the text advances setting energy dissipating elements in outriggers. The static pushover analysis of strengthened stories with energy dissipating elements puts up. The result indicates that the outriggers withdissipating elements can make the structure stand the force in reason, and not brings weakness stories.
