This paper analyses and improves the balance of mechanisms of compression engines to fulfill the practical requirements of DL Compression Engine Facility. Applying the mechine theory of kinesiology and dynamics, this paper is aiming at minimizing its vibration resulting from the unbalance of mechanisms so as to decrease the noise of compression engines and to increase their life spans.A deep investigation was carried out to examine the reasons of vibration. Some dominant factors which results in vibration are recognized through the comparison method, where the influences from all factors are contrasted. It is found that only the crankshaft's static balance is checked in the process of manufacturing compression engine in DL Compression Engine Facility. Static balance is not enough for rigid rotor, because the unbalanced inertia force resulting from rotation will cause some additional dynamic force. The periodic change of the inertia force in magnitude and direction will result in the forced vibration of mechanisms. When the vibration is not neglectable, it will influence the normal uses and decrease the life spans of machines. From the point of view of the design, the counterweight design for the balance is one of the tasks of the crankshaft design. Furthermore, from the point of view of the manufacturing, the machining error and the non-homogeneous density of the material will result in the unbalance phenomenon. As the dynamic balance also satisfy the condition of the static balance, the rotor adjusted to dynamic balance must bring static balance. The factory just checks static balance of the cranks, which is far from satisfying. After the cranks are calibrated by dynamic balance, they can be calibrated by imbalance. Then they need further balancing.A mathematic model is established and a systematic analysis on the crank linkage is carried out according to the theory of the dynamic balance. The mathematical equations of reciprocating forces of inertia and reciprocating couples of inertial of the eight-cylinder alternating motion with eight combination links are obtained. The final results are reasonable. Finally, this paper analyses the results of the data and proves the correctness of the data by experiments.
