With the development of economic, more and more expressway constructions appear in china, soft soil high-filled embankment is used in many of them, so, the deformation and stability of embankment becomes a very important problem .Main theories and methods of the deformation and stability are generalized through the study of many relative documents and all the influencing factors are also analysised.With existing project, detailed analysis of the deformation and stability of the case is made using finite element program plaxis, the consolidation rule of soft soil during and after construction is generalized, as well as the assurance and the danger slide section in every step is calculated.The conclusion that the accuracy of each data meet the demand is made through the comparison of theoretical and monitored result. Compared with the traditional limit-balance method, this method is not only iconic, visual and applicable, but is high reference valuable to the design and construction of engineering construction.
