This paper, to resolve the problem of harmonic pollution in the electric power system, byanalyzing and comparing the study on the detection methods of harmonics in electric powersystem, present two methods of detecting harmonics in electric power system. Firstly, this paper introduces the harm and origin of harmonics in electric power system,summarizes the theory of digital signal processing and its development, digital signalprocessor (DSP) and its application in electric power detection. Than, this paper expatiatestwo methods of detecting harmonics in electric power system by the numbers. One is that thedesign of the analyzing system of harmonics in electric power system basing on DSP, theother is that a better detecting method for harmonics in single-phase circuit. Experimentdisplays that the two methods above all can detect and effectively compensate harmonics inelectric power system, and last we can make the signal that we want to get ideal.Last, what I want to introduce about this paper is the summarization about this study andthe expectation about the detecting methods of the harmonics in electric power system.
