Everything will be changed and altered by another thing, reuse of the architecture is not a fresh thing to us. Modern city develop quickly, new things and old things change continuously. The old Buildings isn't suitable for the need of the city's development, but they are the carrier of the city's culture, they have the value of existence. The old buildings can change their status, and exist in deduction, continue to write the city's history.The recent housing construction has experienced hundred years vicissitudes, having the profound connotation of humanities, history and science. But before 20th century 70's, it has always encountered people's abandonment actually. Now the people finally have discovered its value and to the civic culture importance. "Is better late than never, lasts has not been late". Carrying on the transformation to its interior or entrusting with its suitable new status protects the civic culture from being marginalized by modern city which developed in a high speed.This article based on the historical research, it then discussed the transformation method by the successful instance of some modern housing constructions which comes to use again to the modern construction protection. We will have a deeper understanding. The first part narrated the modern construction inheritance significance and the existing sentiment, moreover to study the background and express the domestic and foreign development situation in details. The second part explained modern construction protection using situation in the top three most characteristic municipalities of the national modern construction development. The third part introduces two successful examples which are Chrysanthemums Alley and the New World. The fourth part analysis the protection of the construction inheritance in the aspects of the law, thought and the economy, then further proposed my own views, with the hope that more and more excellent modern housing transformation project can be made , promoting our city with more flavor of city.
