With rapid development of marine works recently, the needs of large diameter PHC spun piles are increased year by year. Meanwhile, higher performance and higher quality of spun pile become more important. The usage of PHC spun pile with large diameter and length may basically resolve such problem as breaking at pile joints, short durability of joints and low bending-resistance joint strength, which have active values on pushing up PHC spun piles marketing portion, raising the reputation and capacity of competition of enterprise.On the basis of investigations on the usage of PHC spun piles at wharves and piers at middle and lower reaches of Yangzi river and Shanghai coastal areas, the author has introduced the general production procedure of spun pile and points for attention, interpreted the importance and necessity of develop of PHC spun pile with large diameter and length, discussed some key technique on manufacturing of PHC spun pile with large diameter and length, eg, the design of steel mould with pressed-pole stability calculation, research and production of spinning machine, selection of lifting equipment and hooks, pre-stress loss calculation, temperature control of autoclave curing, etc.
