Studies On Planting Design Of Urban Wetland Park

Urban wetland has large ecological and social functions. With the development of the society, many wetlands surrounded by the city are being damaged and nibbled. In order to protect the urban wetland effectively, the issue of constructing the Urban Wetland Park are being looked at attentively here and there. At present, most of the researchers are focused on planning and construction of the Urban Wetland Park, but systematical research on the planting design of Urban Wetland Park are very few, so it give a good opportunity to this research.Xixi National Wetland Park was open to the public on May 1, 2005, it is a tyical example. After reading many literatures, the author does much investigation in Xixi National Wetland Park, Xia Zhuhu Wetland in Deqing and the wetland at the west of the Westlake. Especially the Xixi National Wetland Park, the author has been there nearly 30 times, lasting more than 1 year, through the whole construction progress.Basing on the theories of ecology, recreation activity, aesthetics and so on, the author analyzes the planting design of the Xixi National Wetland Park. The conclusions are as follows: From the viewpoint of ecology, planting design of the Urban Wetland Park should be grounded on the narrow definition the whole way, we should avoid to transform the nature wetland, semi-nature wetland, imitated nature wetland into water gardens. We should build and rebuild the nature with the guidance of ecological structure of plant communities and succession theory. Sometimes, appropriate contrived interference will be much better, which can save the time for creating planting landscape. Also, we should emphasize on conservation of the key species and so on;from the viewpoint of human beings' demands, besides the protection of wetland, we should also consider other functions, such as recreation, landscaping, education and so on, what's more, we should design humanized route, set aside perspective line and so on;from the viewpoint of aesthetics, we should grow the wetland plants in large scale, in order to show the beauty as a whole, leave proper blank of the water surface while planting aquatic and wetland plants, to make the space active and so on;from the viewpoint of distinctive planting design, we should excavate and choose the most distinctive planting design in the park as the emphases during the plantingdesign of the Urban Wetland Park, based on the intrinsic vegetation resource and the history of the field, so as to create a distinctive Urban Wetland Park.
