With the rapid development of science & technology and economy, people enhance their idea of saving energy. The accumulator, one of the important components, has been attached to importance in the hydraulic system. Not only is it a very important saving-energy device but also it could prolong other devices' life and improve the performance of the hydraulic system.But the performance of this important component has been known by few people, which blocks the use and development of the product and is not good for the hydraulic system. In a word, it is necessary to understand the performance of the accumulator. So, the research and the development have been done for the test system of accumulator performance based on virtual instrument in this paper.Firstly, the purpose, the meanings and the background of this research has been introduced. The present test methods for accumulator overseas and domestic has been explored as well. The shortages of existing methods has been found out which specify the research contents in this paper.Then, the solution of constructing accumulator test system has been demonstrated from the testing measure, components used and software platform. A ideal solution has been found out through the demonstration.Virtual instrument technology has been used to design the hardware software platform of the accumulator performance testing system.Modularization design has been adopted;the booster module, the speed adjusting, the stimulation of load module, flux adjusting and testing module have been developed. The aim of changing work condition automatically and transmitting signal to collecting device concurrently has been realized with the combination of advanced the pressure sensor, the temperature sensor, the flux sensor and the use of frequency conversion of transducer and auto-control. The waterfall development method has beenused to develop the software system based on virtual instrument Labview platform. Different local and global variables have been set. The method of dynamic control VI has been used to realize the data transfer among interfaces;the data could be shown concurrently;fourier transform and filter process have been realized, the performance curve is completely gained in applying least square method and automatically born performance report etc. The system has been tested after the forgoing works have been accomplished. The result showed that the design is equal to the expectation.Last, a summary has been made, the future development has been explored as wellThe performance of whole system is steady, the interface is friendly, it is convenient for operation, function is complete. The test result shows that the development of the test system of accumulator performance based on virtual instrument is successful. This system could be used to test the performance of accumulator and quantify the result. It enhances people' s understanding it and provides positive proof for developing new products.
