More and more curved girders are built in highway and railway lines, but because the curved box-girder bridge is a space structure, it is more complicated to get its exact stress. Common calculations are to simplify it as the space beam unit according to free torsion theory, this kind of method is proved feasible in the practice. Steel bridges have a great deal of advantage such as light weight and big span and quick erecting and big crossing ability etc, the box section has the characteristics that bending stiffness and torsion rigidity is big and more suitable for curved bridge, so the steel curved box girder is a very good choice for modern curved bridges. But the steel box girder is typical space thin-walled bars, because of bending-torsion coupling and steel curved box bridge distribution of stress is relatively more complicated even under dead load, so it is necessary to distribute emulation analysis to the real stress of curved box bridge. Analysis through emulation could get a clearer understanding about the stress distribution of this kind of bridge, at the same time, we can confirm the most unfavorable position of the structure.Firstly the thesis introduces computational analysis theory about curved bridge, get a preliminary understanding about the stress characteristic and analytical method for curved girder. Then, according to the finite element theory, ANSYS finite element software was adopted to simulate a 3-span continuous steel bridge. This method can overcome inefficiency in traditional simplified calculation due to the border condition supposes, freetorsion supposes and horizontal size effect supposes etc. According to the distribution of stress under use loading, some unfavorable position of the structure and the rule of stress of distribution were found out, put forward and some suggestions on this basis were also given.
