With the increasing investment in transportation construction and the rapid development of transportation industry, a large number of ramp bridges, interchanges and viaducts have been built up. With the features of curve, incline, slope and abnormity, curved girder bridges can easily adapt to the actual communication lines, without the structural restriction. Besides, curved girder bridges have beautiful lineshape and require less occupation of land, so that they are more and more widely used in recent years. Curved girder bridges are far more complicated than orthogonal bridges, and therefore develop relatively slowly in our country. Even though engineerers have paid more attention to the research on curved girder bridges and have made great achievements, there are still numerous problems about the mechanical characteristic of curved girder bridges that need to be solved at present. The curved continuous girder bridge in the loop road of Taiyuan City is taken as the engineering backgroup. Based on the finite element analysis, the mechanical characteristics of the bridge as well as the mechanical influence of central angle and bearing arrangements are discussed. The contents of the thesis are as follows:1. The grillage method is employed to create the model of the three-span curved continuous box girder bridges. The internal forces including bending moment, torque, shearing force and the reaction forces as well as the deformations are calculated so as to summarize the mechanical characteristics of curved box girder bridges..2. Based on the spatial grillage models, the influences of central angle on internal forces including bending moment, torque, shearing force and reaction force under different loads 0°~50° are discussed.3. On the basis of the actual bridge bearing arrangement, the influences of different bearing arrangement on the internal forces of the curved girder bridges are ananlyzed; the influences of radial displacement of the pier bearings on the internal forces of curved girder bridges are also discussed.4. According to the theoretical analysis and finite element calculation, load test is employed to check the acutual bridge structure. By analyzing the response characteristics of curved girder bridge structure, some suggestions about load test method of curved girder bridges are put forward.
