Recently structural vibration control is an advanced research field in civil engineering, and also is one of the most effective methods to achieve performance-based structural design. Shape Memory Alloy (SMA) has been widely accepted because of its large damp , pseudo - elasticity , fatigue resistance, and corrosion resistance . To suppress the response of structure and get the capacity of fully re - centring , the new isolation damper combing the SMA with laminated rubber is provided.To illustrate the feasibility and verify the isolation and re-centring effect of the above system , a series of theory analysis and calculating program is presented in this paper . The following work is done:Firstly .because the constitution relation of shape memory alloy is expressed by differential equation , solving the equation becomes unusual complex . The method of bisection is introduced to carry though value calculation ,in this way , the relation of stress and strain is revealed . Secondly ,The specific configuration and functioning principle of SMA - Laminated rubber is introduced, and then its restoring model is put forward ,taking use of ANSYS, analyzing a SDOF's dynamical reaction in seismic process, furthermore , comparing the difference among fixed , laminated rubber and SMA - laminated rubber .Then , the elastic time history analysis for SMA-laminated rubber is carry out , and compared with fixed structure and laminated rubber structure the control effect and full re-centring capacity of the new isolation system is verified .The study result is listed as follow: The transformation pseudo-elasticity property of shape memory alloys is simulated exactly with above mentioned method of value calculation . The property of above new isolation device is excellent, the seismic response of the super-structure is significantly reduced , and the fully re-centring capacity after earthquake is obtained .
