Induction motor has been used everywhere in industry.With the improvement of automatic technology in industry,the requirements of the motor control system are being heighten.It is important to the whole civil economy that motor control system keep up with the pace of industrialization..The highest precision, fast response and simplest computing are the eternal destinations of motor control system. Direct Torque Control (DTC) was developed by Germany according to this target. Nowadays, it has become the most important control theory in induction motor control system because of its characteristics such as simple computation, low reliability to motor parameter and good dynamic and statistic characteristic. At present,single-chip microcomputer and vector control are the primary control strategy at home. Nevertheless, with the applying of new technologies such as fuzzy control and sensorless, more dataa should be calculated and higher requirement for precision and real time, under this situation, the single-chip microcomputer shows more and more deficiencies.Consequently, it is very necessary to develop DTC system which use a newer micrecomnuter.The paper analyses the control theories of induction motor in detail, and design a DTC system with digital signal processor(DSP) as microprocessor. The system useTMS320F240 DSP chip which is specialized in motor control system, the chip contains many special module for motor control, and decrease peripheral instruments labor. The newest Intelligent Powe(?) Module (IPM) is been used as power instrument, its iiuler protect circuit raise reliability of the system. The utilization of IPM and DSP realize the combination of newest theory and instrument. The hardware system is indeed an universal one, it can make up all kinds o(?) induction motor control system if configured corresponding software. The software of the system is developed through embedding Assemble Language in C program, which made the software readable and transplantable. Then, the author not only analyze the result of experiment but also testify the system via Simulink module of Matlab software.Finally, the paper sum up the insufficiency of the whole system and predict the direction of DTC as well.
