The applied status of CAN in buses at home and abord is first introduced in this paper. The necessity of use of CAN techniques in home-made buses is analyzed. Further investigation on the layered structure, frame form, error detection, node fault confinement, bus arbitration and bus synchronization of CAN is then launched. Subjected upon LCK6851G-3 bus, the scheme of bus body network system is issued which consists of ten nodes, such as master control unit, dashboard unit and front-lamp unit, etc. Through the contrastive analysis between direct network management and indirect network management in OSEK/VDX, the network management strategies of this bus body system and intelligent control strategies of equipments connected by nodes are studied and established. Through the contrastive analysis on identifier distribution principle and data transfer modes of DeviceNet, CANopen and SAEJ1939, the network communication protocol based on CAN2.0B is made. The designing idea of node communication software is proposed and node communication programs are accomplished. Finally, this system is simulated by CANoe. The result of simulation validates the rationality of the design and the effectiveness of its functions.
