The problem of the traffic safety has already become the topic of global concern. The traffic accidents not only influence the safety of the mankind's life, but also bring the whole society of economy loss. As things are what traffic accidents of some developing country and developing nations grow down, the traffic accident occurrence rate in China still grow up, so it's necessary to research the traffic safety. Aim at the situation of traffic safety in China nowadays, it is the most valid measure to build up the traffic safety information system to improve the road traffic safety condition in China currently. Looking back the development history the present research condition of the traffic safety information system, the thesis applies the geography information system in the domain of the traffic safety, to research the auto-search based on GIS about the frequent spots of traffic accident.The system adopts the way of twice developments, which takes PowerBuilder as to develop elements and integrates Maplnfo to make use of the Mapbasic structure the model of auto-search based on the map about the frequent spots of traffic accident. The research is based on the technology of integrated GIS and the model of searching the frequent spots of traffic accident, stores the accident data of the section and crossing in the road net by SQLServer database and searches the frequent spots of traffic accident on the section and crossing. The model of searching the frequent spots of traffic accident in the research is the equivalent traffic accidents number, the parameter of the model can be set optionally by user. For prevent and control the traffic accident efficaciously, this thesis compares the methods of forecasting the traffic accident. According to the gray identity of the traffic accident, the author use the gray model has been revising forecast traffic accident in Urumqi City and verify the model. Moreover, because of the road traffic accidents involve a great deal of data collections and processing, upon the foundation of the gray forecast model of the traffic accident, the development technology is applied.
