Integrated with the running conditions of power plant, a 330MW direct current utility boiler was studied. References of NOx research were reviewed in this paper. The NOx emission was influenced by the nitrogen content in coal, the coal type, particle size, oxygen concentration and temperature, etc.Methods and models applied in the simulation of combustion process were summarized. Relevant application area and characters were analyzed as well. Temperature distribution and NOx concentration distribution in furnace were simulated when blind coal and soft coal being as boiler's fuel respectively. Variety rule of NOx formation was achieved. SIMPLE method was employed for flow field prediction and RNG k ?εmethod for turbulent flow. Volatilization reaction model was used for combustion and DO model for radiant heat transfer.
