NOx is one of the main pollutants that produced in course of coal burning. The domestic and overseas technologies of NOx emission control are introduced in this paper. The function of reducing NOx emisson by staged-air combustion technology is expounded.Integrated with the running conditions of power plant, the experimental study on NOx emission control by staged-air combustion is carried out in a 330MW power plant boiler with corner fired impellerless burner. The results show that air-staged burning method has obvious effect on reducing the NOx emission and makes NOx emission decreased to 14.37 percent. With the ratio of secondary air increasing through inverted pyramid style, NOx emission was not still reduced. There is optimal secondary air ratio. The NOx emission concentration will increase when the ratio of secondary air exceed the optimal ratio. The change of boiler loads has obvious effect on reducing the NOx emission. The NOx emission concentration decreases with boiler loads decreasing.
