The Studying Of Building A Database Of Asphalt Pavement Management On Highway

With the development of our national economy and highway transportation, rapid increase of traffic amount as well as the gradual perfection of highway net, highway has entered into the maintenance periods, the main task that the highway management department faces is to focus on the maintenance, reconstruction and improvement of the existing highway net instead of constructing highway net. Therefore, the present highway management task is more and more important, a large amount of work is still done with the traditional manual management and also costs much time. Therefore, people have realized that it is very urgent to improve the modern highway maintenance and management level.This paper presents the building of Database System for Pavement Management on Highway which is compiled with the help of Visual FoxPro 6.0 Database Management System, This database will establish a reliable systemic information database of highway and establish a evaluation index system for pavement performance. Accordingly, it will provide necessary and accurate data for road maintenance and managementThe database possesses the functions of data maintenance, information query, statistical analysis and report forms output etc. This database is to solve the problems in the pavement management system, such as the evaluation result is not obvious, the information visibility is low. Furthermore, it also wants to achieve the visibility management of highly integrated database of figures, attribute, image and text, and to improve the accuracy of database storage, convenience of information search and obviousness and accuracy of pavement performance evaluation. It also lays firm basis on reasonably making the maintenance project and correctly predicating the pavement performance.Therefore, the realization of this research will help to change the lagging traditional highway management system, and also have important social and economic benefit to setting up modern pavement maintenance management information system.
