Thermal crack is a usual disease of bituminous pavement in the north and middle of China. With the influence of environmental temperature, traffic load and rain, the crack in pavement will extend to surface and do harm to the road contracture.How to realize the mechanism of thermal crack, how to prevent it's extend, and how to gain more life-span of bituminous pavement is cosmopolitan difficulties. Some experiments have been done, and some results have been applied in design theory and criterion, but no estimate method of crack behavior has been certificated widely still now.The paper covers theory and statistics analysis, finite element calculation and experiments. It preliminarily builds up parameter system, analysis the affective degree of them with grey incidence theory, and explains the mechanism of thermal crack with the way of fracture dynamo. Taking temperature change, modules, thickness, temperature shrinkage coefficient of pavement surface and base into account, the paper also makes finite element computation with SAP, then sum up the disciplinarian of thermal crack, and forecast the hypothermia performance of asphalt.
