Dock that is one kind of structures in water conservancy project is used for the repairing of ship and shipbuilding. Dock chamber which is the principal part of the dry dock is the place designed for the shipbuilding, and the dock chamber wall is one important composition of the dock chamber. The structural shapes of the dock chamber wall are up to different projects. The structure shap adopted in the Dock Project from Nantong-Rongsheng Shipbuilding Limit Company is the sheet-pile wall with anchor rod which is a widely used in practical engineerings.Elastic foundtion bed method and linearity -elasticity method are widely applied in the structural calculation of the sheet-pile wall in the engineering design nowadays. Thanks to the existential errors in both these methods when the soil pressure is considered , the results are not very accurate. The interreaction of the dock chamber wall and foundation soil is considered in this paper using the finite element software MSC.MARC, considering the foundation soil as continuous elastic and plastic ideal matter which is subjected to the Mohr-Coulomb rule and the friction between foundation soil and dock chamber wall belonging to the Coulomb friction. In this paper, the static pressure acting on dock chamber wall simulated by three-dimension contact algorithm in MARC whose boundary condition is highly nonlinear is used to analyse the compute stress and displacement of dock chamber wall in foundation soil, so it can avoid the error of the soil pressure of the foundation soil acting on the dock chamber wall in traditional algorithm.Three working conditions are considered in this paper, sheet-pile wall without anchor rod, sheet-pile wall with anchor rod and compounding foundation. From the results we can conclude that the settlement of compounding foundation under the exterior load is smaller than that of natural ground, that the pile subjected to a large force reduce the stress acting on the soil and that the pile foundation without anchor rod can not reduce the horizontal displacement of dock chamber wall. However, the dock chamber wall with anchor rod can make full use of its horizontal bearing capacity of the pile footing to sustain the soil pressure difference and reduce the the horizontal displacement and the stress of dock chamber wall.Finally we will compare the results from the two methods, the finite element analysis method and bottom-end consolidation method. The results show that there are some consistent conclusions but some difference conclusions too. The differences between them maybe come from the lacks of both methods. After this systematic research on the static characters of the whole structure composed by both the dock chamber wall and foundation soil, this paper simply summarizes the researches have been done and its corresponding outcome, draws some conclusions and points out where is deficient and what is needed for further studying.
