Compared with involute gear, double-circular-arc gear has some characteristics that it's inherent. The double-circular-arc gear has many virtues, such as high carrying capacity, durability, convenient machining, so that it is used in many industries like rock oil, mining, metallurgy widely. The contact state of gear teeth seriously affects the mesh between gears and dynamics capability, so it is very significative to study the static and dynamic contact performance of double-circular-arc gear. In this paper, the main content and methods used are as follows:1) Based on the principle of double-circular-arc gear meshing, the tooth surface formula and the end-tooth profile equation are derived. And in accordance with the relevant literature, the detailed parameters table of the ZY-1 type double-circular-arc gear basic tooth profile is given. And make full preparations for programming and modeling;2) Using Visual Basic 6.0, Created the 3-D solid model of ZY-1 type case-hardened double-circular-arc gear in Solidworks2008;3) Basing on the engineering software ANSYS that has a strong finite element analysis function, establish the finite element model of a variety of gears in its static and dynamic analysis modules. And the definition of contact type and contact is done, in order to prepare for post-processing;4) The static contact stress finite element analysis of ZY-1 type, standard double-circular-arc gear and involute gear are done respectively, in order to obtain the maximum contact stress of the three types. Through compared with the three maximum contact stress, the corresponding conclusions is drawn;5) Based on explicit dynamic procedure ANSYS / LS-DYNA, the dynamic contact stress finite element analysis for different helix angle of the ZY-1-type double-circular-arc gear are done respectively, in order to obtain the maximum contact stress of the every gear pairs. Through compared with the maximum contact stress of the every gear pairs, the curve of the helix angle vs the maximum contact stress is drawn.
