While the spiral bevel gear is meshing, it contains not only nonlinear coupling of boundary-contact and large geometric running but also nonlinear coupling of contact and friction. By using finite element method, the thesis analyses the problem of quasi-static and dynamic meshing. Its research mainly contains:1,Gain precise geometric information of the spiral bevel gear from adjustment block of Gleason machine tool, then form relevant CAD format files. By using the large finite element method software MSC.Patran and MSC.Marc, plot the spiral bevel gear into griddings in manual mode.2,By using the large finite element method software MSC.Marc, A 3-D nonlinear contact analysis model for a pair of spiral bevel gear with three meshing teeth pairs is established. By using control of rigid body method, the model can transfer torque and rotary speed.3,Based on the model, a quasi-static meshing simulation is carried out in a meshing period. The numerical results which indicating the variety of the contact status, the contact stress, the bending stress in the location of teeth root and the torque and rotary speed of gear pair vs. the different meshing position are presented, and the rationality of the model is be verified.4,On the basis of analyse of a quasi-static meshing simulation in a meshing period, a dynamic meshing simulation in the case of definite torque and rotary speed are carried out in a meshing period . The numerical results which indicating the variety of the contact status, the contact stress, the bending stress in the location of teeth root and the torque and rotary speed of gear pair vs the different meshing position are presented.5,As adding the friction of the spiral bevel gear, the variety of the contact stress of teeth surface and the bending stress of teeth root vs the different meshing position are presented.To sum up, the thesis mainly anaylses the performance of the aviation retarder spiral bevel gear in meshing,which results provide experiment for the design and improvement of the spiral bevel gear.
