The Comparison And Research Of The Ancient Court Space In China And The West

With the development of science and technology, the culture of different areas exchanges frequently. We can acquaint with the culture of the other countries, which give us the opportunity to re-assess the value of local culture. I expect that I can find out the roots of the differences by comparing the court space of China and the West, and then apply it on reality.The thesis was divided into four chapters:Chapter I is introduction,it expounded the reason and background of the study ,then introduced the meaning and the methods of study.Chapter II is the comparative study of Chinese and Western slave society courtyard space.The thesis summed up the rule by analyzing the architecture information. It studied the development of western slave society, and then analyzed the difference and familiar of the Greek and Roman courtyard space. On the basis of the analysis of Chinese and Western courtyard space ,the author found out the reason of the difference in economy,politics and culture perspective.Chapter III is the comparative study of Chinese and Western feudal society courtyard space.Chinese feudal courtyard space followed the primary form of the courtyard space in the slave society as the culture was come down from the ancient culture. The western feudal courtyard space went through several stages, such as medieval and renaissance, the form changed frequently. At last the thesis analyzed the reason of the difference in economy,politics and culture perspective.Chapter IV is the last chapter, in which the Chinese and Western courtyard space were compared in the cultural perspective .By discussing the different cultural mentality, we knew how the culture affected the architecture.The author wanted to link the ancient culture,architectures and architectural design together and Simplify them into a clarify clue ,thereby improving the level of the architectural design.
