The voltage source type matrix converter is one kind of electrical specification superior new converter, it has the frequency shift scope width, controllable net side current, adjustable power factor, bidirectional power flowing and so on electrical specifications, is a new direction of the power converter studying. The voltage source type matrix converter will have the broad application prospect as the high performance converter in the AC transformation domain, to research the voltage source type matrix converter, obviously will have the certain practical significance.The paper firstly analyzed the bidirectional nine-switch matrix converter about the operational principle, the switch cell's synthesize and current commutation and the control strategy. Then the voltage source type matrix converter mathematics model is established each in 3-phase static and circumrotate coordinate system, moreover by open-loop simulation, the simulation results show that the voltage source type matrix converter can realize the frequency range very broad sine wave input-output, moreover by regulating circuit parameter, the power factor in input side reaches 1 approximately, realization static VAR compensator(SVC) function. In order to realize real-time control, the paper studied two kinds of closed-loop control structures such as based on scalar quantity and double closed-loop control structure, moreover established their control structure, then simulation to the double closed-loop control structure of voltage source type matrix converter. The simulation results indicate that reach the real-time control requests, the system dynamic response performance is good, the converter input output can be adjusted in the short time. The paper lastly analyzed the maximum wind power tracking fundamental principle of variable speed constant frequency wind generating technology, and the different type AC machines variable speed constant frequency wind generating systems study present situation and various systems performance comparison, and studied the circuit structure of the voltage source type matrix converter realization the variable speed constant frequency wind generating power conversion, established the control structure of the voltage source type matrix converter realization the variable speed constant frequency wind generating power conversion. And by digital simulation to the control structure, the simulation results show the practicability of the voltage source type matrix converter applied to variable speed constant frequency wind...
