The aerated concrete is a kind of green environmental protection material which has unique advantage of incorporating new wall material and heat-insulate into an organic whole. It is the only one that can meet requirements of 50% energy-efficiency in all exterior wall materials at present. However, the extent of application and the full play of function is far from the level that aerated concrete should be used in building. Especially in past, aerated concrete is just used to replace the solid clay brick as commom wall material. Not enough attention is paid to.its another important and outstanding function of heat-insulate. A series of problems remains to.study if we regard it as a kind of energy- efficiency wall system.The thesis begins with computational analysis to the aerated concrete wall thermal performance.The aerated concrete is proved to have good performance in heat-insulate and heat-conserve as single wall. The index of dew-condensing is within allowing range, thermal performance totally can meet energy-conserving standard requirement in hot summer and cold winter zone. The major problem of aerated concrete is that wall is apt to come into being crevice which hinder its popularization and application to some extent. This text carries on detailed analysis about it and put forward some solutions to control crevice. Economy is another important respect need to consider. Compared with traditional ones, this type residentials reveal its superiority on energy consumption of making, transporting and building up.The article also discusses the problem of economic thickness of aerated concrete at Changsha area. At the end, the article discusses issues about architectural design, structural system, hot bridge analyze which need to consider in a holistic energy-conserving design of aerated concrete house. In general, the aerated concrete wall is a kind of energy-conserving wall that can be used in hot summer and cold winter zone. As a practical technology of energy-conserving wall, it deserves to popularize for its superior thermal performance.
