Study On Planning And Design Of High-rise And Low-density Community In Chongqing

With the development of China's economy and the sharp increase of the country's population, high-rise and low-density communities, which are intended to effectively moderate the conflict between the expanding urban population and the limited territorial resources, have become one of the principal residential places in most large cities. Advanced by the facets of nature, economy, policy and market etc., high-rise and low-density communities have also become the major form of residence in Chongqing in recent years. Therefore, it's cardinal as well as urgent to explore into such communities.Some achievements and experience with regard to planning and designing are obtained in the construction of high-rise and low-density communities in Chongqing, whereas in the meantime numerous problems and disadvantageous have risen up, which mainly center on the lacking of the requirements and models of planning and designing that cater to the characteristics of high-rise and low-density communities, and which leads to such ensuing problems as: a planning of high-rise and low-density communities that is detrimental to the residents'communication, a poor sense of belonging among the residents, a chaotic transportation system, unreasonable public facilities, a low utilization ratio of outdoor environments, etc. Consequently, the dwellers feel uncomfortable in these low-quality residential districts, bringing about unfavorable impacts on the wholesome development of the high-rise and low-density communities in Chongqing.This dissertation sums up the requirements and major models of planning and designing relating to high-rise and low-density communities, by referring to the findings made by the countries or regions that develop such communities earlier, by investigating the status quo and demerits of the high-rise and low-density communities in Chongqing, and by digging into the location selecting, plane distribution, transportation system, arrangement of public facilities, environmental design, and communal management of high-rise and low-density communities. Meanwhile, it verifies and demonstrates the rationality of the requirements and models by citing the examples of such communities in Chongqing, and naturally puts forth the corresponding suggestions and countermeasures concerning the planning and designing of the high-rise and low-density communities in the city.This dissertation aims at designing the corresponding requirements and models...
