Study On The Design Of Exterior Spatial Interface Landscape Of Mountainous Cities

The area of mountain is much larger than that of the plain on the earth. China is a mountainous country, and the area of mountain takes up more than two thirds of the whole land. In order to develop the existence space, to obtain the resource of mountain and to return back to nature, the mountainous construction seems to become more and more important.This thesis focuses on the study of the interface between exterior spatial substantiality of mountainous city and its space. Interface is the material substantiality of generative space, limited spatial forms and the environment meaning. City, as a shape, its interface is everywhere and various .The landscape design of the exterior spatial interface of mountainous city is an important component part of the expression of city spatial art. But most mountainous cities apply the theoretical system, technology and standard of plain city to their design and construction because of the lack of systematic layout and scientific management. Such design and construction do not fit in with the specialty and complexity of mountainous natural ecological environment and those lead to the damage of the three-dimensional and multi-dimensional landscapes typical of mountainous cities. So we need to study and analyze this phenomenon systematically, and then explore the continuous development of the landscape design of the exterior spatial interface of mountainous cities.Based on the relationship between interface and city space and the characteristics of exterior spatial interface of mountainous city -----Chongqing, this thesis first analyzes the function and use of interface of mountainous cities in the spatial constitution, and then further states the influence of Chongqing nature, history and culture on its interface landscape construction, and finally concludes the existing problems of Chongqing interface landscape. Secondly, on the basis of visual aesthetics, landscape ecology, and environment psychology, and also combined with the features of exterior spatial interface of mountainous cities, this thesis puts forward the basic principles which can direct the creation and evaluation of exterior spatial interface. It also concretely discusses the bottom interface, vertical interface and the design of exterior spatial forms. At last, this thesis takes the exterior space of Chongqing City as an example to prove the feasibility and appropriateness of the design theory and method.
