Study On Technical Guide For Water Treatment Of Western Small Cities In China

With rapid development in recent years, the construction of water supply infrastructure in China's western small cities is being widely concerned by the government and the public. To insure the relevant technology policy to be implemented efficiently and to recommend most effective and feasible technologies to China's western small cities, the Ministry of Construction utilized the development aid fund of the Dutch government to carry out a Development and Demonstration of Feasible Technologies for Environmental Infrastructure in Small Cities of Western China (MOC-NGGP-2003-3). Formulation of water supply and treatment technology guide is one of its missions. At present, technology guide of water supply and treatment is not available so far in China. So formulating the guide which is well in accordance with the features of small cities in western China is highly significant in both theoretical aspect and practice to accelerate and regulate the technology application of water supply and treatment in western small cities.In this thesis, the necessity of establishing a water supply technology guide is concluded through investigation and analysis of water resource, water availability, domestic water consumption, treatment process, wastewater treatment and disposal, operation and management as well as current situation of the water supply technology guide in China. The application scope of technology guide is clearly defined and its guiding idea and basic drafting flow is described in details. With the analysis of survey data of construction of water supply facilities and its technology guide both in eastern and western China, together with respect to up-to-date Municipal Water Supply Quality Standard issued by the Ministry of Construction, the key points of the guide are decided. The processes of groundwater treatment, conventional surface water treatment, micro-polluted water treatment, high-turbidity water treatment, algae-containing water treatment, ferrum-containing water treatment, manganese-containing water treatment, fluorine-containing water treatment and disinfection have been pointed out.
