The Researches About Indigenous Design Of The Waterfront Landscape In Cities Of Western China

Reference to urban waterfront landscape planning and design is broad. It is the crucial part in the planning and design of waterfront landscape that how to plan the waterfront landscape design to reflect the local or vernacular characteristics, hence local to leisureliness and attractive journal environmental landscape.In modern urban design, especially in urban waterfront design, phenomena appear that landscapes are similar and their features are not outstanding enough. Although elements concerning local characteristics are used in the design, the vernacular landscape is gradually dying out. Indeed, during China's economic development and urbanization, it is inevitable to give up some traditional and regional landscape. But conception of vernacular landscape design should go deep into the hearts of designers. At present, under the background of the western development, design should not only protect original landscape characteristics (vernacular characteristics and ecological characteristics), but the positive interaction between historical atmosphere and modern demand during the process of landscape design of western city. Hence contemporary with avoidance of repeating construction, it escalates the city visualization. Waterfront is the most active areas in urban landscape; therefore, this paper does some exploratory research on vernacular design of waterfront landscape in western city.Concerning actuality of urban waterfront landscape and past concept definition of vernacular landscape design, this paper defines a new conception of vernacular design from the angle of urban waterfront landscape design, expands the past definition of vernacular design, and facilitates people to precisely use the relative landscape design theory in practical construction. By researching vernacular landscape design and several related issues, this paper discusses the design method on planning vernacular landscape, especially the western urban waterfront landscape design and transformation.on the basis of analysis and study of vernacular design urban waterfront landscape, a series of research methods and the field survey, this paper screens out the design laments that can be used in waterfront landscape design, and analyses the feasibility of vernacular design in untapped waterfront landscape region. Meanwhile, exploring the reasons provides basis on guiding vernacular design of urban waterfront landscape, and theory for vernacular design of urban waterfront landscape in western region.Reference to the relevant town planning policy and field survey, a method of how to use vernacular design to construct urban landscape rich in local characteristics is conceived after analyzing the structure of urban waterfront and exerting the urban space theory of a point-line-plane pattern. Take waterfront landscape of Yan'an city as a typical example, this paper combines overseas design examples, analyzes extant problems, tries to transformative waterfront landscape using design theory, and offers reference for vernacular design of waterfront landscape in western cities.
