The vibration monitor and diagnosis technology has been widely applied in modern equipment maintenance and management, responding to the much more complexity and precision of large scale equipments, so far, it has created huge economic and social benefits. In order to guarantee the validity of monitor and diagnosis, it is very necessary to develop a multimedia training system with high efficiency and practice, so as to train the operators well.This paper mainly researches into the development and investigation of monitor and diagnosis technology, based on these theories, develops a multimedia training system about fault diagnosis of large machines. It mainly resolves several important questions as follows.①It summarizes the knowledge system about the vibration monitor and diagnosis technology based on ISO18436 criterion, and brings forward a monitor and diagnosis system based on network according to the steel enterprise character.②It introduces the basic monitoring parameters, deals with signals with FFT and window functions, discusses how to analyze signals widely with time analysis, frequency analysis, demodulation analysis, exiguous analysis, axes tracking analysis and azimuth analysis. Then we can pick-up the fault symptoms and sensitive parameters and so on.③It researches into mechanism and characters of several familiar faults such as imbalance fault, inclination fault, slack fault, rotor friction fault, syntony fault and so on. And it also studies the mechanism and characters about rolling bearing and gear, which are the two typical parts of rolling machine. Besides, the frequency spectrum characters have been chiefly used into the diagnosis.④This paper introduces a spot diagnosis example, it has proved the validity of the theories and methods above.⑤It has successfully developed a monitor and diagnosis training system according to the steel enterprise rolling machines, which is based on ISO18436 criterion and the precious expert experiences with multimedia software Authorware and Flash.
