Small town pressure pipe-net planning and design system is a multi-variable, multi-object and multi-hierarchy system, which contains magnanimous iformation. The traditonal planning and design and management methods have become more and more unsuitale for information times. The strategy of urbanlization can be greatly advanced by applying GIS into small town pipe network planning and design when information technology is developing more and more. This paper reseaches and establishs the models of small town pipe network planning and design system based on GIS. It can take the reference for urbanlization and informlization on small town in our country.The author finds that there are many prolems information is obturated and cannot be shared, repeated design and consruction after the investigation on committee of planning and design and the managements. The autor developed the small town pressure pipe net-work planning and design system (PPPDS), blocked this system, and researched the relationship between these models. The PPPDS includes some models: the models of query and statistic on pressure pipeline space information, space analysis model, population forecast model, load caculating and forecasting model, hydrodynamic cacultion model, engineering synthetic operation model and running fee caculaiton model. Information sharing and communicating can be realized by space information query model, which overcome the limitation in traditional document manegment and for the realization of distance and area caculaiton. Buffer analysis deals with the pipeline hiting problem. Population forecast and load models supply the data for pipeline planning and design. Hydrodynamic calculation model offer the way of caculating the pressur dropping and size of pipe. Pipeline synthetic operation can help user look out the best position for pressur pipeline, including the layout, plane position , and depth.In this paper, the Supermap5.0 is used as the system platform, in which objects arespatial supervised and analysed, Microsoft Access 2003is the database system, in which data is stored and transferred. In this system C# is the developing language and makes system models usability.
