Superfine SiO2 powder is a kind of high - quality neutrality mineral filler. It has many characteristics of being steady chemical property, being acid and alkali proof, being big specific surface area, being high surface activity, being high oil absorbency, being well thickening function, resisting high temperature, being well insulativity, and resisting ltraviolet ray.Superfine SiO2 powders are widely used in many fields of national product, such as rubber, plastic, coating material, electron, medicine etc. The quantity demanded of superfine SiO2 powders is increase with years, but the production of superfine SiO2 powders cannot satisfy the demand for the product. And there is also a grow demand for them in the whole World. While some starvation countries such as Japan should import siliceous raw material cosmically from China, Hindustan and so on to comply with the requests of the further processed products. So, there are broad possibilities for the application of superfine SiO2 powders in both domestic market and world market.This paper has studied the preparation of superfine SiO2 powders and the effect of grinding acids with quartz powder of Yingkou by a ball-stirring mill. It has demonstrated the pulp density, media/material ratio, the ratio of beads and the void volume that affected the particle size of SiO2. By controlling these factors, superfine SiO2 powders has been prepared after grinding for 8h. The particle size (d50) was 0.3342μm.This research selects a variety of grinding aids which includes Na2SiO3, DA, (NaPO3)6, NH4Cl, AlCl3, Triethanolaminum and Laurylamine, to study the effects of the type and amount of aids on the grinding of SiO2 under the same conditions. And the suitable aid and its optimum amount have been determined. Superfine SiO2 powder of 0.2μm has been prepared under the optimum amount of suitable aid.The mechanism of the superfine SiO2 powders preparation has been demonstrated in this...
