Study On The Evaluation Of The Safety Of Highway Weaving Sectionbased On Traffic Conflict Technique

With the fast development of Freeway, traffic safety become severe day by day. Weaving section is an important composition of freeway, but there are many traffic jams and accidents in this area . So it's significant for the safety of traveling on the freehway to study the safety of driving in the weaving section. To improve the road safe performance and reduce the traffic accidents , the corresponding evaluation shall be made objectively first to the road safety.The traffic conflict technique is a new evaluating method based on no-accident statistics in traffic safety field. It evaluates rapidly and quantitatively traffic safety situation which is different from traditional accident statistical evalution. The paper proposes an evaluating method of traffic conflict based on grey cluster theory by means of regarding TC/MPCU as index, which provides a new evaluation method for safety of freeway weaving section.
